Reading new works next week in Port Alberni

Well, all has been quiet on this blog for a long time… but that’s because I have been writing!

This year my big focus has been finishing my Masters of Fine Arts in Creative Writing at UBC. I’m happy to say that I finished all of my requirements for my degree just over a week ago! My thesis was a feature-length screenplay (set here on Vancouver Island’s west coast) and working on that has definitely taken time away from finishing this book. But I also have been working on stories and essays, as part of my degree, that will appear in the My Secret Sasquatch collection.

And… I will be reading from some of these new works here in Port Alberni next week! Can’t even say “hot off the press” because the works are even fresher than that… they haven’t even gone to press yet!

So if you are anywhere around town, please come, next Wednesday. There will also be live music by Kenn Whiteman, and an open mic – so if you are a writer, come early so you can get on the reading list too!

Wednesday April 25th
Music starts 6pm, readings start 7pm
Char’s Landing, 4815 Argyle, Port Alberni
Admission $5

My Secret Sasquatch (and other possibilities)

Congrats on finding this brand new site…

Yup, it’s official: I’m working on my next book, My Secret Sasquatch (and other possibilities). This one will be somewhat different from my other books: toying with that grey area between “fiction” and “non-fiction.” My Secret Sasquatch will be a collection of writings that, rather being easily classified as stories that either “did” or “did not” happen, explore the realm of what could happen.

This website is brand new, and the book is currently half-written. Look for My Secret Sasquatch, in both paperback and ebook editions, in 2012 – and be sure to check back here for more info and some sneak-peaks of what will be inside.

For more about me, visit www.jacquelinewindh.com. While you’re there, be sure to take a look at my four other books.
